Prophesy of Pendor 2: A Living World Built to Punish Your Assumptions

For more than a decade, Prophesy of Pendor survived on word of mouth like a medieval rumor that refused to die. Now its creator, Jim “SaxonDragon” Landes, is rebuilding that ambition as a commercial standalone game, dragging the Pendor feeling onto a new platform and, crucially, a new design philosophy.

The Experience

Pendor is a low fantasy medieval world on the edge of collapse, where ancient knightly orders fade as new powers rise. You play as a lost heir to a forgotten throne, a bloodline meant to unify fractured kingdoms, if you can survive long enough to try. The game pitches itself as a decision driven campaign: not a guided story, but a path you build through ambition, conflict, and consequence.

The gameplay loop centers on rising from nameless wanderer to someone whose actions reshape the world.

What Sets It Apart

Prophesy of Pendor 2 aims to generate a dynamic world, and not just emulate. Emulation creates the illusion, while PoP 2 relies on synergistic systems that interact in real time, producing outcomes no designer explicitly scripts.

Geography becomes the nervous system, feeding economics through trade and disruption, then letting your raids ripple outward with realistic pressure and shifting demand.

Who Should Play This

This is for players who like systems that talk back: strategy forward combat, troop management, and simulation logic that makes “one more decision” feel consequential. Expect a long-form campaign experience, because a living world takes time to read and harder time to master.

It is also for series fans who want the original Pendor spirit, but with deeper lore texture and more individualized character interactions.
