A hilarious gag anime instant classic

Being an adaptation of a Shonen Jump gag manga, this one came in with plenty of hype and it proved to be as hilarious as the source material. It has some excitement, especially with the espionage parts of the story, but this one is more about the family drama about a fake family that is trying to navigate a cold war between two powers.

Fun, wholesome, and worth the watch

Spy x Family is a really solid watch with a great mix of action and comedy. The dynamic between Loid, Yor, and Anya is definitely the best part, and the animation quality is consistently impressive. It loses one star for me because the pacing can feel a bit slow during the slice of life episodes, but the characters are so likable that it's still worth it. It's a stylish and wholesome show that is definitely worth checking out if you want something chill but high quality.

Sweet, funny, and easy to love

Spy x Family is pure charm. It’s an adorable, feel-good series that makes you root for every member of its wonderfully odd little found family. Loid, Yor, and Anya all bounce off each other perfectly, and the show knows exactly how to balance wholesome comedy, light action, and heartfelt moments. Sweet, funny, and easy to love, it’s the kind of anime that leaves you smiling and eager to spend more time with its characters.

Peak Adorable

Spy x Family is one of the sweetest, most heartfelt anime I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. The Forger Family is beyond charming, and I’m excited to see what Loid, Yor, and Anya are up to every time a new episode comes out.

It’s fun having a show that dips its toes into essentially three different genres at once. Slice of life, secret agents, and assassins aren’t usually put together like this, but here it works! My favorite episodes are usually the ones centered around Anya since I think she’s so cute, but if you prefer action or espionage then you’ve got episodes centered on Loid or Yor for that!

I will say that it does contain some tropes that I don’t personally like as much? In particular, Yuri Briar’s obsession with his sister and Nightfall’s obsession with Loid. I think it leads to some good jokes, admittedly, and the show overall is very funny. I just don’t like their characters quite as much. But I know that other people do, so to each their own!

If you’re a found family kinda guy, this show is absolutely perfect for you. The Forgers are a wonderful found family. Also, again, cannot overstate how adorable Anya is. One of the cutest characters I’ve ever seen. And when she couldn’t get any more adorable, they gave her an adorable dog. That’s twice the cute!
