The Story

Blood Over Bright Haven follows two characters with nothing in common. Sciona Freynan, orphaned at four, becomes the first woman ever admitted to the High Magistry at the University of Magics and Industry, after twenty years of relentless sacrifice. Her hostile male colleagues assign her, out of contempt, a mere janitor as a lab assistant. That man, Thomil, is Kwen: a member of a marginalized nomadic people, the last survivor of his tribe, who crossed the Blighted Lands to reach Tiran. As Sciona and Thomil work together, they surface a truth the entire city would rather keep buried, the real cost of magic, and the victims no one chooses to count.
