This book masterfully combines fantasy, Cold War historical fiction, and tales of great explorers. The narrative shifts seamlessly between these elements, keeping readers engaged and enjoying every plot line👌

A Sublime Start, a Disappointing End

I loved the beginning of this saga, which weaves together explorations of unknown lands, Cold War espionage, and elements of fantasy. It keeps you on your toes with surprises at every turn, leaving you guessing about what comes next. However, the ending is less successful; not everything makes sense or feels believable, almost as if it was written by someone else. As for the characters, they are generally well-crafted, except for one of the two main characters (the teenager): a not-so-credible mix of a well-bred kid, a street thug, and an irresponsible adult.
